Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
